Maria first came to discover Montessori when she and her husband, Mike, began their school search for their daughter who was 2 at the time. They stumbled across Montessori, never having heard of it before and fell quickly in love. Maria was awestruck by the first toddler and primary communities she visited and had to learn more.
Deepening her understanding of Montessori, Maria learned that Montessori goes beyond education, beginning from birth (and before) and is centered around the developmental needs of the child. Maria and Mike implemented as much as they could in their home for their three children who all now attend a local Montessori school. Seeing the impacts, Maria was compelled to bring Montessori to as many families as possible right from the beginning!
With a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Saint Louis University, Maria decided to expand upon her education to pursue her passion in Montessori. And, in 2017, Maria received her AMI Assistants to Infancy diploma from The Montessori Training Center of St. Louis. The training was a transformative, life-changing experience, and it is Maria's goal to bring Montessori into the community through community outreach projects, working with local schools and partnering with The Montessori Training Center of St. Louis.
